The project is the creation of a coffee shop/arts and crafts gallery with evening art / craft classes and Sunday day long art / craft classes. The classes would be for approximately 12 students. The evening classes are to be in 10 week blocks. The Sunday classes are to be 6 hour classes plus lunch, with a professional artist – learning tricks of the trade, using the materials provided and creating a finished piece to take home at the end of the day. Classes include batik, silver ring making, embroidery / textiles, etc. Art / craft work is displayed (for sale) on the walls of the coffee shop. The Sunday classes are likely to run one Sunday per month.
The building is not large and has seating for approximately 25 patrons. Coffees and sandwiches are also available to take away. There are also plans to run occasional evening events (ticket only) to provide a meal and 'entertainment' - a speaker, local musician, author, etc.
