LAG Members

Membership of the LAG has been developed to meet the needs of the area. The NFU represents the main land users of farming and forestry. Derbyshire Association of Local Councils (DALC) and Rural Action Derbyshire have community links through parish council and village hall networks, and other local contacts. The Derbyshire Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce represents business interests more widely. Visit Peak District and Derbyshire is the tourism promotion agency for the area.

North Eastern Derbyshire Business Developments Ltd (NEDBD) is the Accountable Body. The two district councils, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire, and the county council are also represented on the LAG. Thus, it is considered that there is a good balance of interests, with the private sector providing ten representatives to the public sector’s three. The bid for European funding was endorsed by all members of the LAG.

The Chair of the LAG is Ken Savidge, a former North East Derbyshire District Councillor and who now represents the Community Sector. The LAG will normally meet five times a year with overall responsibility for managing and delivering the Programme. Working groups will be established as and when necessary.
