Application Process

  • If, following the initial discussions with the Programme Officer, it is decided that the project fits within BNED LEADER Approach, the Programme Officer will request that you complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) Form.  This form is the first stage of the application process to give an overview of your project idea.  The Programme Officer will be happy to help advise on how to complete the EOI.

  • Once the LEADER Team has received the completed EOI in electronic format and a signed hard copy they have 15 working days to assess the project and get back to you with a decision.

  • If the EOI is approved, the Programme Officer will contact you and will provide you with the Full Application Form & Guidance Notes (assistance with completing this form can be providing by the LEADER Team if needed)

  • You will be given a deadline of two calendar months to return the completed Full Application along with supporting documents including a Business Plan (appropriate to the project) and quotations for project expenditure.

  • Once the LEADER Team receive the completed Full Application in electronic format and a signed hard copy and all relevant supporting information, they have 40 working days to assess the project.

  • The application is assessed by an independent appraiser and sent to BNED Local Action Group (LAG) to approve.

  • Once approved, a contract is drawn up and when signed by the accountable body and the applicant, work can start.
